Getting to know our guests

 

When a guest is referred to our service we listen to their story and why they are in need of hospitality housing. We ask questions in regard to their child's health, the individual needs of those within the family as well as social/ financial circumstances. Every family is unique and understanding these needs allows for a successful host pairing.

Once a guest is referred to our service, we conduct an initial interview, background check and ask for a character reference. After these steps are complete, we have our guest sign a contract of intent with Connect to Care. We then pair them with a host home! When the guest arrives at the host home, the guest and host fill out a contracted agreement that goes over the rules of the home and other disclosures from the guest and host. If a guest should need our services in the future, we will try to pair them with the same host. 

We take guest and host safety seriously and run background checks on all adults in the program, however, having a criminal record does not automatically exclude a guest from eligibility. We also have a guest sign a contract with Connect to Care and their host in order to be as transparent as possible with our rules, policies, guidelines and intent.
